According to the Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC) in Karnataka, 116 kilometres of roads in Manipal town, coming under the CMC, are badly damaged. The stretch between Tiger Circle and Syndicate Circle on Udupi-Manipal Road is damaged at Tiger Circle, Manipal Bus Stand area in front of Manipal Post Office and Syndicate Circle. Parts of Kallinapur-Santhekatte to Udyavara stretch on National Highway 66, which passes through Udupi, are also damaged.

Flaw in Thelekkad road construction led to mishap: NATPAC
The National Transport Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC) has stated that unscientific construction of the road at Thelekkad in Tamil Nadu led to the killing of 14 persons in a road accident on September 7. Nashik civic body invites Rs 10.7 cr bids for road works
For various road works in Nashik city, such as tarring, resurfacing, macadamization, etc, the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has invited bids worth Rs 10.7 crore. GHMC proposes Rs 870 cr road works, civic projects
In Hyderabad, Rs 870 crore civic projects have been proposed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). GHMC had bagged the projects under the phase-I (2005-2012) of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). The State-level committee on JNNURM works cleared the proposals for these projects recently and the project proposals would be sending to the Union Ministry for Urban Development soon.

Delhi-Gurgaon e’way developer collects Rs 893 cr toll
The Delhi Gurgaon Super Connectivity Ltd (DGSCL), the company operating the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, has collected nearly Rs 900 crore from motorists. According to official figures submitted by the DGSCL, between February 2008 and July 2013, it collected only Rs 893 crore and NHAI got another Rs 77.5 crore as its share. NHAI officials, however, doubt the toll collection figure saying that the hand held devices used to collect toll at recently installed split plazas have not been integrated.

Widened Salem-Ulunderpet road cuts travel time by half
Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) has complted widening of Salem-Ulundurpet road in Tamil Nadu and the company has begun collection of toll on the road.
Commuters can now travel on the 136 km stretch in less than two hours, which used to take over four hours earlier, Rinfra said.
