Bannerghatta road to be widened into 150 ft soon
Widening of one of the Bangalore's key roads Bannerghatta Road will start within two months. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will hold a meeting with the property owners over land acquisition on October 19. On October 5, Bangalore Mayor BS?Sathyanarayana inspected the road.
Mangalore residents protest against bad roads
In Mangalore, residents of Nanthoor, Bikarnakatte, Bajjodi and Jayashree Gate on October 3 protested at the Nanthoor Circle against the pathetic condition of the road at Nanthoor Junction.
Pact day announced for Sadbhav road project in Rajasthan
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has fixed October 9 as appointed date for a Rs 778-crore worth road widening project in Rajasthan. Infrastructure firm Sadbhav Engineering has bagged the road project from NHAI recently, the company said on October 4.
Work on key road in Aurangabad to be completed in 45 days
The construction of 2-km stretch between Aurangabad railway station and Kranti Chowk would be completed in the next one-and-a-half months, The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) which inspected the road work said on on October 4.
Delhi govt says it will take care of greenbelt
The Delhi government has told the National Green Tribunal that it will take care of the greenbelt along the elevated road project on the Vikas Puri-Mukarba Chowk stretch by planting 2,908 trees to replace the 1,476 which will be cut.
KTC road in Margao to be widened
To get its chapel shifted to Madel in Margao, Managing Committee of St Francis Xavier Chapel had been literally running from pillar to post. The Chapel wants to shift from the old market-KTC bus stand road to opposite the road at Madel and it is trying for the same for the post 12 years. Once the chapel shifted, it will pave the way for widening of the KTC bus stand road.
Nod to 4-laning of h’way in Assam at Rs 522 cr
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has given its approval for four-laning of the Demow to Bogibil section of National Highway-37 in Assam under the Special Accelerated Road Development Programme in North Eastern Region (SARDP-NE) Phase ĆāAĆā on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT-Annuity) in Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) pattern.
Panel blames State govt for bad highways in Kerala
The Rajya Sabha standing committee, in its 200th report on development of highways in Kerala, has blamed the Kerala government for bad roads in the state. The committee has submitted its report before the Rajya Sabha.
Kerala gets Rs 174 cr Nabard aid for roads
To build 23 roads and four bridges in Kerala, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 174 crore to the State Public Works Department (PWD), said the Kerala PWD Minister VK Ebrahim Kunju. Nabard sanctioned the sum in Mumbai recently.
