The Chief Minister has directed the Maharashtra State Road Development CorporaÂtion (MSRDC), the state's noÂdal agency for carrying out infrasÂtructure projects, to undÂertake detailed studies on water transÂport project for both rouÂtes of Mumbai's western and eastern coast. With the CM's initiative, the proposed water transport project on the westÂern and easÂtern coasts of Mumbai may well be back on track. Chavan also asked the agency to work out expression of inteÂrest for intÂeÂrested parties. The wesÂtÂern route aims to conÂnÂect Borivli with Nariman Point, while the eastern route aims to conÂnect Nerul with Gateway of India.
