KR Kamath, Chairman and Managing Director of Punjab National Bank said the bank’s total deposits stood close to Rs 4 lakh crore, while its total credit remained above Rs 3 lakh crore as at end June 2013.
He said this while addressing bank officials of Dharamshala circle at the Managers’ Meetings.
Of the over Rs 700,000 crore of business, overseas business constituted more than Rs 50,000 crore, registering growth of over 40 per cent, Kamath said.
In Himachal Pradesh, the bank mopped deposits worth Rs 13,500 crore and has an outstanding non-food credit of Rs 3,400 crore as at August, 2013.
Out of total 12 districts in the state, PNB is lead bank in the six districts. There are total 972 branches of state-run banks in the state out of which PNB is having 270 branches in the state, he said.
As at end of August 2013, the low cost deposits of the bank exceeded Rs 1,365 crore and the share of CASA Deposits stood at 41 per cent of core deposits.
