Considering that underground coal mining holds long-term potential for coal availability in India, Singareni Collieries plans to invest Rs 2,000 crore over the next five years to boost capacity of the segment to18 million tonne. The investment is part of the Rs 3,500 crore capital expenditure programme that the company prepared for the 12th Plan Period.
