Ansal Properties and Infrastructure has revived its plan to develop a 75-acre IT special economic zone (SEZ) in Greater Noida and will invest about Rs 130 crore over the next three years on construction. The IT SEZ was notified by the Commerce Ministry in 2006.

CIDCO to extend deadline to respond to RFQs
CIDCO, the nodal body overseeing the planned Navi Mumbai airport project, plans to extend the time for companies to respond to the request for qualifications (RFQs) for the project by more than a month. The date has been extended to 30 July from 18 June.

Priority to critical rail links to carry coal

Nitin Gadkari has taken charge as the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping. On the occasion, the minister said efforts will be made
in a transparent manner to give fillip to infrastructure development under his ministry.
ER achieves record freight loading
Eastern Railway (ER) has set a record in freight traffic by loading 62.558 million tonnes in 2013-14, which was 3.73 per cent higher than the previous year. This was stated by RK Gupta, General Manager, Eastern Railway. Speaking on the occasion of the 59th Railway Week, Gupta highlighted the performance of ER during 2013-14.
Major changes in rail sector
Railway Minister DV Sadananda Gowda intends to bring major changes in the railway sector and he would focus on the 'four S': safety, service, security and speed. PM Narendra Modi has already proposed bringing in speed trains and bullet trains, he said.
Reforms for civil aviation sector
Modernisation of existing airports and development of low-cost airports to promote air connectivity, particularly to remote and regional areas, is expected to get a boost under the new government. This may include awarding management contracts at six major airports to private sector players and development of 50 low-cost airports on a fast-track basis.
