Lucknow’s Lohia Path to become widest road in UP
In Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) is all set to give Lohia Path another face-lift by proposing an additional flyover between PICUP and Indira Gandhi Pratishthan. The State government has taken up widening of the Lohia Path, which is said to be the ruling party Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Rs 158.28 lakh for roads, divider works in Varanasi
For construction of four main roads, repairing of road dividers and inter-locking works in Varanasi, a fund of Rs 158.28 lakh had been approved from infrastructure fund of UP Awas and Vikas Parishad on November 17.
New road may be built in Pimple Saudagar in Pune
In Pune area, an alternative road in Pimple Saudagar will be built by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to link the area to Sangvi-Kiwale bus rapid transit (BRT) route in the city. The existing two-km road from Planet Millenium to Rakshak chowk passes through defence areas.
Varun Shipping reports Rs 54.94 cr net loss
Media reports say that Varun Shipping Company reported a net Loss of Rs 54.94 crore in the quarter ended September 2013 as against net loss of Rs 116.03 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2012. Sales declined by 58.48 per cent to Rs 35.63 crore in the quarter ended September 2013 as against Rs 85.82 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2012.

Plea to Karnataka govt for new industrial policy
The Karnataka government should bring out its new industrial policy in tune with the rapidly changing economic environment. This requisition has been made by the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC). The BCIC has submitted a memorandum to the State government in this regard.
Govt to up ports’ capacity to 3,200 mtpa
Union Shipping Minister GK Vasan on November 16 said that the Ministry targets to boost the capacity of Indian ports to 3,200 million tonne (mt) by 2020. The capacity of Indian ports, including major and non major ports, has now crossed 1,300 million tonne per annum (mtpa).
