Railways, ports resume functioning in Odisha

As the cyclone Phailin has crossed Odisha,
railways and port operations in the state have been resumed in the coastal areas of the state on October 13. East Coast Railways, which resumed most of the train services after a gap of two days, will shortly restart freight loading operations as well.

Bhubaneswar to get 3 flyovers at Rs 140 cr

To tide over the traffic snarls in Bhubaneswar, the Odisha government has decided to construct three more flyovers at a cost of Rs 140 crore at Housing Board Square, Nalco Square and Damana Square. While the flyover at Housing Board Square would be built at a cost of nearly Rs 74 crore, the overbridges at Nalco Square and Damana would be commissioned at around Rs 66 crore each.

Highway developers can collect only 75% toll during work

Road developers in the country will be allowed to charge only 75 per cent toll during the work on six-laning of highway stretches. This was decided by the Union Cabinet last week. To ensure that developers don't delay construction, the Union government also allowed tolling to be suspended for failure to meet the deadline.
