GHMC asked to cut width of Mozam Jahi Market Road
Hyderabad Mayor Mohd Majid Hussain has directed GHMC Commissioner Krishna Babu to reduce the proposed width of the Mozam Jahi Market Road from 150 feet to 100 feet. The standing committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of the mayor at GHMC head office on June 27. He said the standing committee would inspect Musi river, Bandlaguda tank and Peddamma cheruvu before giving sanction for providing chain link fencing for the water bodies.

Reconstruction of roads in full swing in U’khand, Himachal
Rehabilitation of road network in natural calamity-hit Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh is continuing by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO). As per the latest figures, the BRO has pressed into service more than 120 excavators and bulldozers in the rehabilitation works. About 30 km of road in the area has to be made afresh. Manipur’s Uripok-Kangchup road to be widened
The Manipur government is preparing to widen the Uripok Kangchup road. The widening of the road will be started from Uripok Sorbon Thingen to Iroishemba Chingjin and its breadth would be approximately 15 metres, the State Works Minister, Kh Ratankumar Singh said in the State Legislative Assembly on June 27. He said that necessary demarcation works has been started although no contractor has entrusted widening of the road.

Indo-Nepal border road in Bihar to aid SSB for guarding

Boost to highway expansion as govt eases green norms
The Union Cabinet on June 27 cleared a proposal that will allow the construction of highways of up to 100-km length and 40-m width without seeking an environment clearance.
