Govt releases Rs 800 cr to Air India
Air India has got Rs 800 crore from the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation. Ministry asks NHAI to sort out row with road developers
The Union Road Transport Ministry and Highways has asked the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to expedite the process of resolving disputes with highway developers by the independent committee set up under the Authority to review individual cases and send its recommendations to the NHAI board. Since its inception earlier this year, the committee has taken up seven cases of pending claims but is yet to resolve any of them, said ministry officials.

Centre okays widening of Mumbai-Goa h’way into 4-lanes
Government's efforts are on to eliminate head-on collisions on the Mumbai-Goa highway. The lane expansion of the highway's 366-km stretch from Indapur to Zarap has been being inched ahead slowly. The Centre has given in-principle approval to expand the highway from two to four lanes. But ministers and officials involved in the project say that because of factors like seeking clearances, land acquisition and the tendering process, work is unlikely to start before 2015.

Agrawal promises Arlem-Raia road-widening
Taking cognizance that the Arlem-Raia road has become accident-prone South Goa District Collector ND Agrawal held a meeting on April 25 where he promised to implement measures to improve road conditions and required signages would be installed by May 10. Snow cleared, road repairs continue on Rohtang Pass
In Himachal Pradesh, the Rohtang Pass, the gateway to adventure tourism destinations of Lahaul Valley was cleared of winter snows on April 25 but the traffic through the pass will be restored only by May first week, an official said in Manali. Odisha CM asks for pacing up of railway projects
While reviewing the progress of different railway projects in the state on April 23 Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed the State Revenue Department to expedite land acquisition for different railway projects to speed up their completion.Sources said land acquisition for 112 km Khurda-Balangir railway line (Khurda-Begunia-36 km and Begunia-Nayagarh from 36 km to 112 km) have been completed.
