This target-setting exercise forms part of a broader mission to transform India Post into a sustainable profit centre for the government, without compromising its social responsibility.

India Post has been tasked with growing its revenue by up to 30 per cent by FY2026, as announced by Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia during the national business meeting held in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Heads of postal circles from across India convened at the Department of Posts’ annual business meet to deliberate on the roadmap for evolving India Post into a premium logistics and citizen-centric service provider.

Addressing the gathering, Scindia said, “India Post isn’t just a service but a lifeline connecting the remotest corners of our nation. I’m proud to see the energy, commitment, and ideas from every corner of the country.”

He reiterated the service’s role in bridging the rural-urban divide and advancing inclusive growth through robust logistics, financial inclusion, and digital connectivity.

Scindia set region-specific growth targets of 20 to 30 per cent for FY2026, tailored to the commercial potential of different postal circles. This exercise forms part of a broader mission to transform India Post into a sustainable profit centre for the government, without compromising its social responsibility.

Scindia especially lauded India Post’s shift to a corporate-style structure centred on performance metrics, innovation, and accountability, adding that a professional, service-driven culture would be key to competing in logistics and financial services while upholding public mandates.

Monthly Employee Newsletter Launched

To complement these performance initiatives, Scindia launched a new internal communication platform, Dak Samvaad, a monthly e-newsletter that showcases business insights, field success stories, and employee-led innovation across postal circles.

During the meet, regional heads presented performance updates, grassroots initiatives, and strategic plans aimed at accelerating growth. Their presentations highlighted dynamic local efforts to enhance India Post’s value in logistics, banking, e-commerce, and public service delivery.

Earlier, Vandita Kaul, Secretary Posts, shared key achievements from the past year and outlined strategic priorities, including innovation, inclusivity, and the evolution of India Post into a modern, service-led organisation.
