To boost cargo volume through its route, the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) has decided to establish containerised cargo handling’ infrastructure. PPT said that the port authorities have chalked out a plan to install containerised cargo handling facilities at the port because its export has shot up.

For the project, the Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) and Warehousing Corporation of India have shown interest. If everything goes the right way, the containerised system would come up very shortly. In the first phase, Inland Container Depot (ICD) would come up to handle seafood in refrigerated containers, the port trust said.
