India traded 251,000 Renewable Energy Certificates in December 2016
A total of 2.51 lakh renewable energy certificates (RECs) were traded in December, power exchange IEX has said. ´A total of 2.51 lakh RECs were traded in the REC trading session held on 28th December, 2016 at IEX,´ it said.

As per information from the Central Electricity Authority, the percentage share of renewable energy in total power generation increased from 4.97 per cent in 2012-13 to about 5.7 per cent by February 2016.
