Minor ports in Gujarat saw a 13.7 per cent growth in cargo handling during April-November 2010 over the corresponding period last year. According to Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) the total cargo handled was 149.51 mt in April-November 2010 compared to 131.49 mt handled in April-November 2009. These ports have a cargo handling capacity of 244 mt pa of which GMB ports handled 206 mt of cargo in 2009-10. The traffic at Sikka Port was up from 65.93 mt to 76.53 mt, traffic at Bedi has increased from 14.21 mt to 15.21 mt, while at Magdalla port traffic increased from 10.49 mt to 11.80 mt. Dwarka and Mundra (new) achieved a growth of 14 and 21.64 per cent respectively during the period.
