It is proposed to convert a five kilometre stretch between 414 km and 419 km of GT Road of Kanpur from the present two lane to four lane road. The district administration of Kanpur Nagar on November 13 sent a proposal in this regard to the Union Road Transport and National Highway Ministry.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Oscar Fernandes has said that the Ministry has been adding 17 kilometres of road a day and is to set up a road regulator before the end of the next parliament session. The road regulator is to address various concerns in the road industry.
Govt to open 10 new tech parks in one year
Within one year, the Union government has a target to set up 10 new software technology parks in the country. The government is also planning to provide marketing support to the companies housed in these tech parks by setting up a dedicated office in the US.

World Bank to continue concessional aid to India

IIFCL confident to raise Rs 10,000-cr
India Infrastructure Finance Company (IIFCL) has expressed confidence that during the current financial year it would be able to achieve its target of raising Rs 10,000 crore. The government-owned company has so far raised about Rs 4,200 crore and expects to raise the remaining amount over two tranches, through bond issues of about Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000 crore each.
Railways nod for launching SCLR girders in Mumbai
To start launching girders for the delayed Santa Cruz Chembur Link Road (SCLR) project in Mumbai, the Central Railway (CR) has finally given permission to the two infrastructure agencies. The nodal agency Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and the implementing agency Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRTC) have been waiting for issue of blocks (time for work) by the CR since March this year.
