Over the last fiveyears there has been increased private sector participation in infrastructure via Public Private Partnerships (PPP), and as an objective but active participant in documenting this growth, Infrastructure Today established the Infrastructure Today Awards in collaboration with KPMG. It is our endeavour to applaud and recognise partners in the nation’s growth through partnerships, a mode that has caught the fancy of the nation’s policymakers, ow­ners and developers.

The 5th edition of these awards will be held in a glittering ceremony at The Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi xxxxxxxxxx. Studded with topnotch attendees from the infrastructure sectors, both from the government and the private sectors, the awards have increasingly been making their mark in the infra-universe as an appre­ciation to reckon with.

Specifically, the awards seek to:

• promote wider recognition of success stories
• Identify and disseminate benchmarks and lessons on drivers of success
• Raise awareness on the potential of the sector.

The methodology: More than a hundred respondents filled out an online perception survey to vote for top organisations in each of the categories. Upon short listing the top candidates, the jury panel decided on the winner based on select evaluation criteria. Mem­bers accorded weightage to

• Vision, scale and complexity of a project completed this year: The organisation’s display of commitment and track record of completing projects, and building orga­nisation capability in terms of linkages with ven­dors, organising critical capabilities, and so on.
• Impact of the project on the society: Partnerships, alliances, building cost-effective or competitively pri­ced infrastructure, and high on values.
• Innovation in work: First-of-its-kind technology or ideas and building models to obtain scale, access fin­ance, mitigate risk, etc.

The awards are independently adjudged by our jury, comprised of the following personalities this year:
