Kingfisher's 15 planes have been deregistered by the Indian civil aviation regulator DGCA paving the way for global leasing companies to take them back and easing worries that the dispute might hurt purchases by other Indian carriers. The move comes a day after officials from German bank DVB, one of the largest global aviation financing banks, met DGCA chief Arun Mishra to press for deregistration of the two aircraft.

Airlines unable to display number of seats at each fare level
Domestic airlines have expressed their inability to comply with the Supreme Court's direction to display the number of seats at each fare level and compressing the wide range of prices for a route. The airline chiefs, who met aviation regulator DGCA recently, argued that implementation of the order would be tantamount to regulation of airfares, something which the government has ruled out.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been urged not to revoke Kingfisher Airlines licence until the debt-ridden carrier clears dues of Rs 273 crore to the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The DGCA has suspended KFA's licence on grounds of operational inefficiencies.
