As part of its cost-cutting measures in the State-owned carrier Air India, the Union Government on May 27 appointed five experts from different fields as part-time Directors on the Air India Board, including IIM-Ahmedabad professor Ravindra H Dholakia. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh appointed them to utilise their specialised skills to help Air India achieve the targets set by the government through its Turnaround and Financial Restructuring Plans, an official release said.

World Bank funded double-lane highway in Mizoram soon
In Mizoram, a major road construction project, that is financed by the World Bank, is to be started soon. NHAI may outsource toll collection as builders want early exit
The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is considering changes in certain contract formats for building national highways. Work to begin on Vadapalani flyover in Chennai
The Tamil Nadu Highways Department is to commence work on a flyover on Jawaharlal Nehru Salai in Chennai. The Rs 69.4-crore facility will come up over the Vadapalani junction and the central portion will be integrated with the Metro Rail station, which will be the highest elevated station.
