Let me clarify that the term ´Smart City´ does not denote scale. We can have small Smart Cities and large Smart Cities, both successful. The Mass Rapid Transport System or MRTS is really meant for large cities which have the population and economic density to sustain such expensive infrastructure

No toll fee hike for users of Electronic City elevated highway

Contrary to the customary 6-7 per cent annual hike in toll fee, there will be a downward revision this year for users of the elevated highway that connects Central Silk Board Junction with the Electronic City Junction on the Bengaluru-Hosur stretch.
Site clearance for NH bypass nearing completion
The site clearance for the widening of the National Highway-66 bypass stretch from Mukkola to Karode in the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border is nearing completion. The removal of trees, vegetation and other waste materials along the 16.5-km stretch is ´70 per cent complete´, thereby paving way for the development of the second reach of the bypass.
CCEA approves three major highway projects across the country
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has given its approval to three major highway projects. Briefing the media in Delhi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the government has given its nod to the four-laning of the 80 kilometre long Phagwara-Rupnagar section of NH-344A in Punjab at a cost of Rs.1,444 crore, in Hybrid Annuity Mode.
12 Bengaluru roads to get TenderSURE makeover
The Karnataka government will upgrade 12 roads in Bengaluru under the TenderSURE project as of now, sources in the Urban Development Department (UDD) have said. The roads include Church Street, Commercial Street, Brigade Road, Lavelle Road, Infantry Road and Queen´s Road.
